Arthur’s Bio:
Arthur Siller is a Soil Health Educator with UMass Extension who has researched cover crops and forages at UMass since 2019. Before that, they worked as an organic vegetable farmer in the Northeast and studied agricultural practices to reduce environmental pollution at the University of Wisconsin.

Event Description:
Join us for a hands-on exploration of soil ecology. Learn how different growing practices affect the life and structure of the soil and how to assess soil health in your own farm, garden, or other land. We’ll cover what kind of organisms live in the soil, how plants and management affect it, and use simple tools to measure compaction, aggregate stability, and more!
