The spring 2022 plant sale was a great success, thanks to all of our customers and hardworking volunteers! This year Middlesex Conservation District donated the sale’s leftover food plants (raspberries, blueberries, strawberries and blackberries) to Boston Area Gleaners in Acton. Boston Area Gleaners is a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to food rescue and hunger relief.
The Gleaners’ mission is to harvest surplus farm crops, prevent food waste through composting, expand local food access by bridging food distribution gaps, and create new markets for locally grown produce. In 2021, The Gleaners moved to the site of Stonefield Farm on Martin Street in Acton. The nonprofit is the only on-farm gleaning organization in the region—consider volunteering!
